【摘要】:Thistestmethodisgenerallyapplicabletorigidandsemirigidmaterials.Althoughflexuralstrengthcannotbedeterminedforthosematerialsthatdonotbreak,tangentmodulusofelasticitycanbedetermined.Theresultsobtainedbythistestmethodshouldserveasaguidein,butnotasthesolebasisfor,selectionofachemical-resistantmaterialforaparticularapplication.Noattempthasbeenmadetoincorporateintothistestmethodallthevariousfactorsthatmayaffecttheperformanceofamaterialwhensubjectedtoactualservice.Inadditiontothetangentmodulusofelasticity,asecantmodulusiscalculatedatthepointonthestress-strain(load-deflection)graphwherethestrainis50%ofthemaximumstrain.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofflexuralstrengthandmodulusofelasticityinflexureofcuredchemical-resistantmaterialsintheformofmoldedrectangularbeams.Thesematerialsincludemortars,brickandtilegrouts,structuralgrouts,machinerygrouts,monolithicsurfacings(60milsorgreater),andpolymerconcretes.Thesematerialsshallbebasedonresin,silicate,silica,orsulfurbinders.1.2Abarofrectangularcrosssectionistestedinflexureasasimplebeamincenterpointloading:thebarrestsontwosupportsandtheloadisappliedbymeansofaloadingnosemidwaybetweensupports.1.3MethodAoutlinesthetestingproceduregenerallyusedforsystemscontainingaggregatelessthan0.2in.(5mm)insize.MethodBcoversthetestingproceduregenerallyusedforsystemscontainingaggregatefrom0.2to0.4in.(10mm)insize.MethodCisusedforsystemscontainingaggregatelargerthan0.4in.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
