【摘要】:Viscosityhassignificanceintheuseofemulsifiedasphaltbecauseitisapropertywhichaffectstheirutility.Whenusedinapplicationtypesofconstruction,thematerialmustbethinenoughtobeuniformlyappliedthroughthespraybarofdistributor,yetthickenoughsothatitwillnotflowfromthecrownorgradeoftheroad.Formixinggradeemulsions,theviscositymayaffectmixibilityandresultingthicknessoffilmontheaggregate.Theviscosityofmanyemulsionsisaffectedbyshear.Therefore,strictadherencetotestprocedureisnecessarytoachieveprecision.1.1ThistestmethodutilizestheSayboltFurolviscometertomeasuretheconsistencyofemulsifiedasphalt.ItisapplicabletoalltheemulsifiedasphaltsspecifiedinSpecificationsD977andD2397.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
